International School Wassenaar – Rijnlands Lyceum
In September 2019 the International School Wassenaar opens on the premises of the Rijnlands Lyceum Wassenaar, part of the Rijnlands Lyceum Foundation. We are very happy to provide the international community with the IB Middle Years Programme and – in the future – with the IB Diploma Programme.
Nestled in a picturesque setting in the heart of leafy Wassenaar, within touching distance of The Hague and Leiden, the International School Wassenaar provides a warm, safe and supportive environment for each child.
The school has been awarded the highest possible accreditation by the inspection team of the Dutch Ministry of Education. In addition, the Rijnlands Lyceum Wassenaar is listed as one of the ‘Excellent Schools’ in the Netherlands.

Teacher of Integrated Humanities
(0,4000 FTE)

The position can be extended by combining it with geography lessons in the bilingual stream CLIL (TTO).  

  • Experience in teaching the age group of 11-16
  • Experience in teaching English to IB-MYP, IB-DP, CLIL, EB or GCE A Level
  • Experience in working with EAL students
  • Willingness to be involved in extra-curricular activities
  • Experience with meeting the individual needs of the students
  • Good ICT skills and an understanding of ICT use in an educational context
  • Experience in international or intercultural education
  • Willingness to learn Dutch

  • An appointment based on the Dutch teachers’ collective labour agreement for secondary education (CAO VO) on the relevant pay scale. The specific step in the scale is depending on relevant background and experience;
  • a temporary contract of one year with a prospect to a permanent one. A permanent contract is subject to the successful completion of the probationary period and the recognition of teaching qualifications by the Dutch Authorities;
