Inloggen in je school account

Most of the schools within the Stichting Het Rijnlands Lyceum use a secure Microsoft environment. To protect student data, we use Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), which is an extra layer of security to verify your identity when logging into your school account.

This only applies when logging into your Microsoft account outside of the school network, ensuring that only the students can access their account when not on campus or accessing the school network.

On November 14, MFA will be available for all students. Starting November 25, it will be mandatory for every student.

For students: Secure login with MFA

What is MFA?
MFA is an extra security layer in addition to your password. It helps Microsoft verify that it’s really you, keeping your account safe. MFA can take many forms, either through a text, a phone call, or a mobile app.

For our schools, we prefer using the Microsoft Authenticator App, which provides codes for verification and can be downloaded from your phone's app store (Google Play Store or Apple App Store).

However, it is also possible to use MFA through SMS and and email. Please follow the instructions set in the setup guide below.

When do you need MFA?

  • At school: No MFA is required. Log into your Microsoft account as usual.
  • At home or elsewhere: MFA will be required. Log in with your password and confirm via the app on your phone.

Important to know:

  • You do not need your phone at school.
  • You can login outside school only if MFA is set up.
  • Need help? Support is available on November 25, 26, and 27 from 08:30 AM to 4:30 PM via +31 715 730 919.

At the bottom of this page, you’ll find a step-by-step guide to setting up MFA.
